About Our Center

Transfer Student Success and Student Veteran Success are a part of the Transfer & Student Veteran Success Center. Combined with both areas, we can provide a holistic approach to supporting transfer and military-affiliated students. Visit our office to enjoy our welcoming space in the Student Union basement (room 061) and learn about our services and opportunities.


Meet the Team

  • Transfer Student Success

    Transfer Student Success can provide you with personal guidance on transferring to OSU. Including connecting courses you've already taken that can be transferred, as well as, choosing the best courses to take at your current school that can transfer. We aim to help you choose the best path to achieve your academic goals on your schedule. 

     

    Cheryl Kleeman

    Cheryl Kleeman, M.Ed.

    Director, Transfer & Student Veteran Success

    Cheryl has a Master of Education degree in Higher Education from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literary Studies from Rocky Mountain College. She's worked in higher education since 2005 in various positions, including residential life, admissions, and student affairs. She is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and spent most of her career assisting veteran and non-traditional students navigate college. When she is not working, she loves to be out in nature hiking with her son. Cheryl also enjoys photography and acrylic pour painting.

  • Student Veteran Success

    Student Veteran Success supports military-affiliated students to become comfortable and aware of campus and community resources focused on academic success. Our goal is to provide opportunities for our students to belong.

     

    Vincent Rivera

    Vincent Rivera, MA.Ed.

    Veteran Success Coordinator

    Vince has a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting/Information Systems from The University of Nevada, Reno. He's worked in higher education since 2015 at The University of Nevada, Reno Veteran Services, and Western Nevada Colleges’ Veteran Resources. Vince served in the United States Marine Corps and the Air Force Reserve. During his free time, Vince enjoys playing Disc Golf, playing (badly) an assortment of musical instruments, and being ignored by his two cats.
