CampusLink User Guide


CampusLink is a database for student organizations, leadership development opportunities, and volunteer service. It provides an easy way to manage all aspects of your student organization online. Organization officers and advisors can sign in and use the Gear Icon within the menu found on the top left corner of the page to manage all aspects of the organization including: 

  • Creating and advertising events and meetings
  • Collecting forms, applications, and surveys online
  • Holding elections online
  • Storing important organizational files online
  • Messaging organization members
  • Tracking attendance at your events and meetings
  • Recording community service hours for you or your organization.
  • Recording your campus involvement on your student involvement transcript

*All student organizations at OSU are required to keep their officer, advisor and roster information in CampusLink up to date since it is the only location for organizational contact information.

  1. How to Update your Officer, Election, and Advisor Information on CampusLink
      • Updating the "About" and "Roster" pages for your group
        • “About” Page
          • Gives basic, public contact information for the organization
          • The “Top 4” (Pres, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) officers and advisors listed on the “About” page can reserve rooms/ space through the Registrar and Meeting and Conference Services.
          • Updates the NEXT election date
          • Officer and advisor information listed here must match the Accounting Signature Card.
        • "Roster" Page
          • Gives a full editable list of all members who have been added to the roster
          • Shows who has been invited or requested to join the organization
          • Places the officers and advisors into their respective roles
          • Gives anyone in an officer or advisor role the administrative access specific to that role

      • Creating Events in CampusLink
        • Event creation and all other management features are found under the Gear icon next to your organization
        • Helps you manage and promote your club’s meetings and events
        • Creates a URL for your event – share it as a URL or as a QR code
        • Helps you set up all your meetings and events for the entire semester – just keep clicking “add another date” when setting up your meetings.
        • Lets you view who attends your events
          Allows RSVPs
        • Lets you automatically collect their feedback about the event

Benefits for Recording Event Attendance

  • Simplifies Attendance Tracking

    While pen and paper may be the favorite and easiest for student organizations it is often unreliable. With the help of CampusLink, you can streamline the attendance process for the meetings and events your organization hosts. 

  • Multiple Options to Record Attendance
    • ID Card Readers
      • Available for loan from 211 Student Union
      • Most accurate method to record attendance esp. for larger events 
      • Requires a laptop, tablet, or phone and an internet connection, and that the event is set up in CampusLink  prior to the event’s start time
    • QR Codes or URLs for online events
      • Self reported attendance
      • Good for small groups/ club meetings where people want to have their attendance recorded for a requirement etc.
      • The event must be set up in CampusLink prior to the event’s start time
      • Attendance recording through stays open for 72 hours after the event ends
    • Enter OSU emails in “add attendance” 
      • Best for small events or club meetings 
      • Ideal if you do not have Wi-Fi or an ID card reader
      • Low tech, requires data entry after the event, but this can be easier if you have a list of email addresses of members that you can paste into the email field
    • RSVP attendance
      • Get into the RSVP record and mark people as attended as they enter the event or after the event
  • Helps with Student Success

    Did you know students engaged in student organizations and other involvement activities on campus are more likely to achieve higher academically? By recording individuals who attend your meetings and events it can assist in helping get others involved on campus, which will also assist in growing your organization. 

  • Recruitment & Member Engagement

    Utilizing CampusLink for attendance for meetings and events can assist officers to send a follow-up event survey and/or meeting notes assuring the accuracy of those engaging in the organization.
