Purpose and Objectives of Student Conduct
Student Conduct’s purpose is to administer the student conduct process for students and organizations while promoting the ethical, personal, and intellectual development of students.
Objective 1: Balance the commitment to regulatory compliance with respect for student rights and privacy.
Objective 2: Administer an educationally minded individual student conduct process built on the values of accountability and ethical development.
Objective 3: Maintain a robust ecosystem of accountability for student organizations with different mechanisms for education, interpersonal accountability, and institutional investigations into allegations of misconduct.
Objective 4: Engage in campus safety efforts to mitigate risk and reduce harm to impact the student experience.

Responsibilities
Accountability
- Hold students accountable for violations of University policy.
- Advise students of their rights and options in the conduct process.
- Investigate allegations of nonacademic misconduct through interviews and gathering information from faculty staff police and others.
- Hold students accountable for violations of university policy while protecting students’ rights to a fair and equitable process.
- Through evaluation referral and educational intervention the Coordinator will provide guidance to students who face disciplinary action encouraging them to change their behavior and develop their decision-making abilities.
- Refer students to available services within the university and community as appropriate.
- Provide a creative continuum of action plan assignments and sanctions.
- Monitor and assure student compliance with action plans.
- Place holds on students’ enrollment as necessary.
- Work with faculty staff residence hall personnel and fraternity and sorority affairs personnel.
Administration of a Comprehensive Student Conduct System
- Provide consultation services to administrators faculty staff and students regarding due process requirements and procedures hazing sexual violence alcohol/drug issues or other student behavioral concerns.
- Assist in creating and distributing materials to the campus community to provide education and resources about OSU procedures regarding student conduct and sexual violence response processes.
- Assist in conducting research activities in collaboration with other University offices to gather information useful in designing and planning education options for students.
- Monitor and integrate legal issues related to student conduct and student affairs.
- Assist in coordinating record keeping for all conduct files within the University utilizing Maxient.
- Assist in the preparation of conduct summary reports at the end of each semester for
the department’s annual report
- Assist in revision as necessary of the student Code of Conduct.
- Assist in verifying student conduct records for internal and external officials.
- Collect necessary information to clear or deny applications for admission by prospective students who have been suspended or expelled from other academic institutions or who have criminal felony history.
- Supervise graduate intern/s through training and evaluation.
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority by reporting Clery reported crimes through appropriate process.
- Meet with your supervisor and keep them informed of your responsibilities regularly.
- Assume other responsibilities as delegated by members of your supervisory chain.
Conduct Committee and Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Judicial System
- Assist in the recruitment of members of the Student Conduct Committee.
- Assist in designing and facilitating orientation and education sessions for Student Conduct Committee members.
- Participate in Student Conduct Committee hearing process including scheduling the hearing; preparing all related correspondence; and preparing necessary materials for the hearing panel.
- Serve as a representative or investigator in Student Conduct Committee hearings.
- Ensure Fraternity and Sorority Affairs judicial boards are conducted in accordance with university policy as well as training these boards and serving as University representative as needed.
- Oversee the outreach initiatives for Student Conduct including developing educational presentations for student organizations.
- Assist in outreach initiatives coordination of 1 is 2 Many campaign and sexual violence prevention online training.
Investigations
- Serve as an investigator for cases alleging sexual misconduct or student organization misconduct.
- Assist in providing supportive measures to all parties.
- Assist in the University’s prompt effective and equitable intake and investigation process.
- In compliance with Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges Policy 30:10-1-19 Reporting of Sexual Assault Allegations if a student reports to Student Support and Conduct that they are an alleged victim of sexual misconduct make a report of incident to the OSU Police Department.
- Keep up to date on federal regulations and case law regarding high-risk issues and sexual violence prevention and response.

Qualifications
Minimum
- Masters Higher Education, College Student Development, Educational Leadership, or related field
- One year of related work experience.
- Familiarity with student development theory, higher education law for Students Affairs, and emerging/relevant issues regarding student conduct.
- Experience in managing confidential and sensitive situations. Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations.
- Proven ability assisting students in ethical decision-making and reflection on behavior, values, and community membership.
- Ability to prioritize and work autonomously in a high traffic environment.
Preferred
- Two years experience adjudicating student conduct cases.
- Familiarity with Title IX and compliance with Federal laws and guidance.
- Completion of ASCA Gehring Academy Training Institute.
