- Does OSU provide free legal advice?
The Student Government Association of OSU provides free legal services to faculty, staff, and students. For the remainder of the semester should you need to contact the attorney please email sga@okstate.edu with 'Attorney' in the subject line and we will forward those directly to the attorney.
- Where is the Student Government Association (SGA) located?
It is located in the Student Union on the 2nd floor in 211E, 211F, 211G, and 211H.
- How can I join the Student Government Association (SGA)?
Thank you for expressing your interest in joining the Student Government Association. OSU Student Government Association strives to serve the students of Oklahoma State University. It is our goal to make YOUR voice heard on this campus. SGA partners with faculty, staff, and the Board of Regents to insure that Oklahoma State University is in a process of constant improvement. Our goal is to provide funding and implement changes to better our campus, community, and most importantly the students’ way of life. SGA is comprised of elected and appointed positions that provide representation for the student’s views, rights and interests. Furthermore they maintain academic freedom, academic responsibility and promote student cultural, social and physical welfare through education, community involvement and providing assistance for student activities.
Members of SGA are composed of senators elected or appointed from the academic colleges and living groups. In order to become a member of SGA, please contact your college or living group to obtain details on the application process for becoming an elected or appointed member of the OSU Student Government Association.Learn more about SGA Elections
If you are an incoming First Year student, you may apply to become a member of the First Year Representative Council (FRC). FRC is a separate and autonomous agency of SGA. FRC’s primary objective is developing a relationship with and voicing the concerns and opinions of the Freshman class at OSU.
In addition to running for an elected position, there are numerous ways to become involved in SGA. Throughout the year, SGA sponsors numerous activities, community projects, social gatherings and national and international cultural events. Students are encouraged to apply to become an active participant in the development and leadership of these different activities. Please check the SGA website for information and applications regarding these various activities.
